Don’t Just Sit There!
As we approach Labor Day weekend, many of you will be taking long car, train, or plane rides. However, did you ever think about what those rides could be doing to your body? Its just as bad a sitting at your desk. Have you read my articles on Sitting All Day is Killing You part 1 and part 2? Sitting for extended periods of time on a plane can cause many health issues affecting all over your body.
- Sinus Issues – caused by the dry air – That leads to an easy gateway for germs to enter your body. Yuck!!!! So wash your hands while flying and keep your hands away from your face. Bring hand sanitizer with you.
- Slow Blood Circulation – caused by low air pressure and inactivity – That can lead to blood clots
- Dehydration – caused by the decreased fluid intake – I mean who really wants to keep running to the closet AKA the bathroom over and over again. And yup the air pressure and low humidity are also contributing factors.
