Time: What a Difference a Day Makes.

Time: What a Difference a Day Makes.

  • All things in due Time
  • Time waits for no man
  • Time is precious
  • Time is the wisest counselor of all
  • The two greatest warriors are patience and Time
  • All things change with Time
  • Use Time wisely

Well, I could go on with more statements about time, but I won’t, because you’re probably thinking of a few on your own. All of the above hold truth in our lives. Some are more timely than others, some show up from time to time, while others are in the forefront of our minds all the time. However, I want to talk about time as a counselor and a motivator. If you read my Blog from March 2020 Cleansing – Clearing – Letting Go! PURA VIDA, I spoke about how it was time for me to dedicate 2020 to personal growth, dwelling close to the channel that moves me and taking care of self.

The title of this blog What a Difference a Day Makes, speaks volumes, but in the literal sense for me it’s been 365+ days. Where I am today is a far cry away from where I was a year ago. Me Then: saddened to watch another year go by without my mom, emotionally beaten down, mentally and physically exhausted and having no clear vision of what was to come. Moving about in a fog of disbelief and bewilderment, crying daily, trying to keep my head up, faking I was ok. Questioning everything, why me, why this, why now, what happened, where did I go wrong. Trying desperately not to go down down the rabbit hole. Thinking it can’t get any worse. Sadly, it did, but I still didn’t let that stop me.

Now, I could have allowed my thoughts to consume me and let time pass me by or I could push through giving myself permission to take the time I needed to heal, to refocus and shift gears. I refused to surrender to my emotions or any negative thoughts. I would not allow my past to dictate my future. Instead, I made good use of my time and 365+ days later I have emerged, ready to share my victories after allowing time to be a counselor and motivator in my life.

Several years ago, I started creating my own workout. I tested it, received feedback, thought about it and tested it some more and more. Then life happened and yup time kept on ticking. Year 2020 has presented me with an opportunity to take advantage of having more time on my hands than normal. While some people may be thinking how did this happen to me, instead I embraced the situation with a resounding this happened for me! I choose to take advantage of my time and build my future.

One valuable lesson I learned on this journey is: It’s never too late to start, because each step is a small piece to the bigger picture. Just like each second is small part of time that makes up the whole day. Making small steps, helps us to take control of our time so we can get the most out of it. And that is exactly what I have been doing. May I present: GetFitWithTaj 2.0!

Me today: Having taken control of my time; I am focused, at peace, happy, healthy mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Having clear sight to my future, surrounded by a good support group/team. Standing on solid ground, proud of my accomplishments and super excited to move forward!! I’ve been working hard to get here and I’m in the planning stages for 2021, because It’s my Time!

Time has been a great counselor to me, I have learned more about myself, developed a greater appreciation and respect for time. I’ve also developed a new drive and focus on working towards my goals/dreams. It makes me a little sad that my mom is not here to see these dreams that I shared with her come true. But I know she would be proud and happy for me.

No matter what goals/dreams you are looking to accomplish or trying to find the time to take on, I’ll leave you with these mantras that continue to get me through:

  • One step at a Time
  • Give it Time
  • In due Time all things will be healed and revealed

Just remember you have to actually do something with your time.
